THE RHYTHM IN RHYTHMIC BLUES

Dedicated to those who have been a part of…………The too much DANCE running through my veins!!!!!!!

Bang Clap………..Bang Clap………….Bang Clap
1 2 ………..8
8 7 ……….4 3 next change!!!!

We’ve had a whole world….a whole lifetime with these beats.
A weird, yet the most amazing world that was more than stable and the best with its six mind boggling inhabitants!!!!!!!!!
Let me take the honour of introducing them……..ANUBHA ,KRITI ,PRIYA, PARUL,SHILPI and the lucky me DIPIKA.
Bore na………..fine……….lets see the true ones……….
That’s YASHI,KITTA ,TAMBU ,PARO ,SHILPS and DIPS!!!!!!!!!
Our world…the world of dance
The world of drama
The world of innovation
The world of victory
The world of a dream …that yes, we will win!!!
And the world of a belief…..that ‘WE’ who rules hearts, will rule the world some day!!!

Never got a chance to thank you all…so here I am boring you and extending my gratitude with a whirl of Thank You’s !

YASHI- the girl who redefined Indian dance with a giggle…….the best asset she possesses! I, on behalf of the whole team would state that yes yashi yes…..we wanted you to be a part of us because we went gaga over the giggle and not your dance…… And before I get that instant and the most impulsive “Kitte gande hooooo….” dialogue, let me plz plz plz correct myself………yes we are a fan of that Baby Hema Malini of Rhythmic Blues who dances
with the excitement of a peacock in the rain
with the happiness at the arrival of her beloved
with the pride of being The Yashi !!!

KITTA- I proudly state her to be the most sincere learner and dancer in the group. One who climbed up the stairs leading to the terrace only because she wants to dance…..dance and …..dance. You find her rehearsing while we all rolled with our pranks and u find her being the Miss Perfect on stage too. With the innocence of an infant she can never let you even frown at her and you are bound to do what she asks you to do. As a dancer she has tought me a lot and the most important part is that she has been too busy only dancing coz she always had her fashion show to cater :P ………on a serious note, an earnest request, plz never let this spirit die….that has been an asset to the group and our dance.

TAMBU- mannnnnn………never have I encountered such a moron in my life. She thinks that its only she who hates me….but has never realized that the vice versa can be true too. This girl will thank me life long for letting her shoot a local message from my cell (which has free messaging facility), in such a grateful manner as if I had donated her my kidney and saved her life. That is Priya Iyer, The Creator of the group. Innovation and generation of steps can be instantaneous or she can be pardoned for some time and then after going into infinity for more than infinite times she comes up with an exquisite gift for herself, for yashi, for the group and for the audiences………speechless…..huh. You cant even dare to blink or waver your awestruck attention to any other human form dancing beside or in the vicinity of ‘no one other than priya’ zone….hehe

PARO-she is the first one of the group I had seen dancing in MITS on the eve of friendship’s day and I remember all our seniors praising this female without halt. About paro……..she comes in a package and the package (leave alone us or the world) itself cant dare its life not to include Rashmi Kataria in it…………boss she can make paro scream, dance, move, jump blah blah blah (this is what rashmi claims). But then she has been a disaster with her rollercoaster ride between her dance practices and can cause all the members of Rhythmic Blues to quit the hell out with her horrifying threats of dancing with the group for the next show. Coming back to paro, (actually I cant mention paro without this female to risk my life) as I said she has been the first one to teach me unknowingly stage presence. I have seen that in her and the most important factor……a very important message to all the other members……please marry paro and her cute partner (kriti) before their obsession goes beyond imagination. They cant live and dance without each other.

SHILPS- now this was the time I’ve been waiting for.(her description) Taking my first day in college to be the frame of reference, that is, my infant stage……I move on with my relation with this lady and her role in our group. Meri bachpan ki class partner. Meri bachpan ki hassi partner. Meri bachpan ki aawara partner. And most significantly, meri bachpan ki dance partner. Dance groups were formed and went into ashes, but we stood and danced beside each other being the best of dance partners be it freshers or the E-day celebration. Always ready to freak out and more than ready to have fun while practicing.
You can find her rolling like a tiny ball on the floor with the whirl of unstoppable laughter when others are struggling with steps. Some serious stuff- on the final performance if she forgets steps, we can assure ourselves of a prize …..that’s our lucky charm!!! And the thing that no one in the group can ever do and she can ,is that she is a true critique to the anything that we come up with .whatever she says is a fact that we cant or don’t want 2 see. (hats off yaar). So in short this tiny little girl comes in a power pack which consists of 90% of laughter and the rest 10% consists of The Sunshine that has been ruling hearts of Rhythmic Blues by her witty, cute and never ending enthusiasm and critical appreciation.

There is a member left who would prefer to describe herself after a few more lines.

These members have given birth to the so called “RHYTHM” in Rhythmic Blues. The ones who have strived for the position we are in today. The times when we shivered yet tossed ourselves at the terrace, for a cause, The Rhythm. The times when we went laughing our hearts out finally realizing that we’ve been in the swing for more than our practice hours. The times when we felt that 3 hours of sleep would be too less, yet kept on exerting till we collapsed. The times when the arrival of E-day tickled our tummies as to what new, and what next is Rhythmic Blues upto. The times when we experienced that heavenly happiness just to see the crowd going crazy for us, and craving to perform again on stage when that crazy crowd yelled “ONCE MORE” and each one of us thinkin aloud “yaar ek baar aur kar hi dete h yaar”. The times when we could survive without bathing, and in the same clothes for consecutive days, just because we wanted to view the MBM crowd also getting mad at us. Yes that feel gave us the vibe. The feel that the crowd swings with our moods and our Rhythm. The times when we had an aura around that yes “they come up with something new each time”. The times when we went conscious even if a junior came down to view our practice and giving our bestest performance and expressions. That was the vibe ,that yes someone’s watching us because we are worth it. The times when we imagined ourselves to be shakiras and giving our best, inspite of being in those dirty piggy night suits. Those WERE the times which I cant rewind.

Where will I get this ignited spirit. Where will I find another Yashi giggling out of no reason and others enjoying that atmosphere all together. Where will another “Belly Dancer” swing that belly of hers to beyond awestruck the audience and make Rhythmic Blues proud of her. Where will another Tambu come up with the wackiest of steps resulting the others running in different directions to save their lives of laughter and ultimately Tambu not realizing that she was the clown and our Hassi Ka Paatra. When again will another Parul fold her sleeves upto negligible just to be another Anisha Jhamb.
When will we perform again to give shilps a chance 2 say….. “yaar dips ,frankly speaking, ye jamm nai rha h yaar…”….. I swear, the sincerity of this expression makes me luv her more and gives me the thump to come up with the best. And yes……a special thought, as to when will I find rashmi, shai nd vin vin standin the whole nights just to keep our spirits up and being present in the first row of audiences to shoot our best moments and then shai shoutin “uff!!! Raghav waala samne aagaya!!!”.

Finally I would love to mention myself, dips………
I would prefer calling myself ‘dips’ rather than ‘I’….coz ‘I’ is an individual, but ‘dips’ is a part of Rhythmic Blues. And there is no ‘I’ but always a ‘we’ that stands upright in the group. So dips is the character who survives till the ‘we’ does .Who day dreams choreography for the group and dreams in the night of Rhythmic Blues performing on the biggest platform ever. The one who prays that Shilps be her dance partner ever and ever and ever. The one who waits to be inspired every moment by Tambu ,be it her dance or her creation. The one who skips a heart beat in the fear of Paro not getting the permission .The one who wants to watch Yashi non stop when she hits the floor. The one cant manage when Krits is not present at the practice sessions. The one who just wishes that ‘we’ keep performing till the world crashes down over ME. May be this stupid gal, dips gets too enthusiastic/ emotional/ carried away/ positive/ sensitive the moment Rhythmic Blues comes into the role. But it’s the way it is, and cant be changed.

An urge comes out ‘dil se’ to re-live those moments…. A belief will always be strong that – “ INDO-WESTERN dekhna h to hamare group ka dekho. Indian dance dekhna h to yashi ko dekho. Out of the world choreo dekhna h to tambu ko dekho. Ghoomar dancer ko western karte dekhna h to apni paro ko dekho. Duniya ki sabse loyal dance partner chahiye to shilps ko dekho aur dhoondo. And white paint wali snow white dancer ko dekhna h to kriti ko dekho……6 bestest wonders of the world ko dekhna h to Rhythmic Blues ko perform karte dekho….6 big shots in one pack……gone off board!!!”

Yes. I will miss u guys. I will smile, yearn, crave, yell, cry, DANCE everytime I will remember u all in future. I can get rid of memory of this group’s existence, but not the RHYTHM it has given me.
And on a final note……cant go without mentioning….I LOVE U.
(the ‘u’ goes for the group, for each one of u, for all of us, and for the best moments we have shared together.)

P.S- please dun ever forget the 6th member…..please.
